Even though I have some knowledge of desert landscaping, I had no idea about how or where to begin even planning the desert garden I wanted in my back yard. I did not know which plants would do well with full sun and an Eastern exposure. With Mary's expertise in garden plants and garden design, I engaged her in designing my backyard desert garden. Mary proved to be a good planner, designer, and instructor. I now have a low maintenance, beautiful, desert garden in my back yard. Because of Mary’s ability to teach, I now know how to place plants, prune them, and give general care to my garden plants.  A great insight from Mary was, if a plant doesn't do well in one area, don't struggle to keep it there, try a different plant.

My wife and I were looking to do some landscaping for our home. This is our first house and we really had no clue on what to do. We had some ideas for an asian theme and the areas we'd like to do something with but knowing what plants or trees to use, if we needed to level or raise an area, how much was too much in the area, we had no clue.

Mary sent us a questionnaire to get an idea what we were looking for and also asked for our plat so she could get an orientation of where the sun would be, inclines, etc. We set up an appointment for her to come by and meet with my wife and I.

When Mary arrived she was very polite and ready to go to work. We looked at our back yard and she immediately had a good idea of what could be done. She pointed out some problem areas in terms of drainage etc.

We came back inside and she had a plethora of information for us. We went over all of this information, and got a vision of how our yard could look, and loved it. Mary really hit the nail on the head. The consultation took roughly 2 hours and we were very pleased.

After the fact, we received an email from Mary with some additional information and suggestions. She made sure we were well informed before the consultation, during, and after. Wonderful, and polite subject matter expert, thank you Mary!

Mary has an eye for design and she is thoughtful and meticulous in everything she does.  Because she knows how to listen, she is able to create designs that will truly please her clients.  She is, in short, a customer’s dream.  When my wife and I decided to replace our water intensive landscaping with something more appropriate to our desert environment, Mary took our general ideas and turned them into a pleasing display.  We were so worried about changing the look of our small lot, but Mary made us feel confident and made it look easy as well.  Thank you Mary!
